![]() In Cal Ripken's Real Baseball, you will have the ability to customize your character name, position, his/her throwing arm, body type, face, batting stance, pitching form and jersey number. Character names have an 8-character maximum, so choose your names accordingly. All characters begin with 143 Parameter Points (PP) allocated over the seven Parameters of a character. See: Parameters. The allocation of your Parameter Points is important when developing the position you would like your player to play. In Cal Ripken's Real Baseball, different positions on the field have certain attributes, which are stronger than others. It will be your job to develop an outfielder with arm strength and speed, or a pitcher with throwing accuracy and stamina. Once your Parameter Points have been allocated and confirmed, you will not be able to change them. Select from any of the nine positions below your character name to review the attributes associated with that position under the section labeled “Parameter.”
Catcher:Selecting the Catcher position will start your character with excellent arm strength and accuracy. Body strength and stamina is above average, with the downfalls including poor speed and quickness. First Base: A First Baseman will start off with great stamina, catching range, and body strength. However, they are slow and have poor arm strength. Second Base: The Second Base position begins with good speed, quickness, and stamina. They start with average body strength, throwing accuracy, and catching range, but have below average arm strength. Third Base: A Third Baseman starts with above average arm strength and power. Be weary of their lacking speed and stamina. Short Stop: Short Stops begin with excellent stamina. All other categories are evenly dispersed leaving a modest beginning in speed, body strength, accuracy, and strength. Left Field: A Left Fielder starts with excellent body strength, arm strength, and speed. They are well below average in throwing accuracy and quickness though. Center Field: The Center Field position has good starting body strength, arm strength and excellent speed. They do have poor throwing accuracy and quickness, with just average catching range. Right Field: For the Right Field position, excellent body strength is mixed with good arm strength and speed. The downfall is in poor quickness, throwing accuracy, and catching range. |
