Cal Ripken’s Real Baseball Code of Conduct
Updated Date: 8/13/08

Netamin Communication Corporation. ("Company", or "We", or "Us") is responsible for setting the member code of conduct for its members and the Cal Ripken’s Real Baseball community. However, our members must also all take responsibility for the quality of the overall Cal Ripken’s Real Baseball experience, both to the individuals and to the community. It is in this spirit that we have created this code of conduct to help all members understand what is and is not considered acceptable behavior in Cal Ripken’s Real Baseball. The code of conduct is a supplement to and an integral part of the Cal Ripken’s Real Baseball Member Agreement, and is provided to help define guidelines to a positive experience for all members of Cal Ripken’s Real Baseball.

Part of Cal Ripken’s Real Baseball is a shared gaming experience that allows players to create and control characters, which interact in an online baseball game. In order for players to have the most enjoyable experience, you should approach other players/characters with the same courtesy and respect that would be expected in any real life group of people of mixed ages, races, cultures, genders, sexual orientations and beliefs.

You are entirely liable for all activities conducted through any characters registered to your account. The following rules apply while using Cal Ripken’s Real Baseball:

The following specific rules provide more detailed guidance on acceptable and unacceptable behavior:

  1. Cal Ripken’s Real Baseball Game Play. Acceptance of Cal Ripken’s Real Baseball game play is mandatory for participation in Cal Ripken’s Real Baseball. If a bug (software discrepancy affecting flow of game play) or lag interferes with the course of the game – players accept the possibilities of those terms by signing up to participate. Complaints about such things as foul/fair balls, strike zone infractions or umpiring decision scenarios are equally present throughout all games in Cal Ripken’s Real Baseball. These are scenarios present and plausible for all players from both teams and are part of what makes Cal Ripken’s Real Baseball unique.

  2. Account Responsibility. Recognize your own responsibility in having access and allowing others access to your accounts. The person to whom the account is registered is ultimately responsible for any actions from his/her account. Protect your password. Cal Ripken’s Real Baseball staff will never ask for your password. Do not give your account information out to anyone.

  3. Account Accuracy. All player account information provided to Netamin.com for the use of Cal Ripken’s must be accurate and verified.  In the event Cal Ripken’s Real Baseball needs to contact its members through email, and your information has been falsified, a GM has the right to lock your account. Any misinformation submitted is grounds for the immediate deactivation of an account until accurate and verifiable information is provided. Netamin then reserves the right to deny access to the game, the community, and any other Netamin property to any individual and their past, present or future associated accounts who has knowingly and deliberately provided any such misinformation.

  4. 3 v. 2, 2 v. 2 Games.  In the event a Pick Up Game involves 2 human players on a team, the offensive base runners may advance a maximum of TWO bases, provided the baseball bounces off the wall behind an AI Outfielder.  If a ball is hit passed a Human Outfielder, the base runner may advance to third, at the base runners discretion.

  5. AI Manipulation and Errors.  Base runners that advance on missed throws, missed catches, or other misplayed AI scenarios is at the sole discretion of the offensive team.  Runners may “tag out” at their own discretion.  Tagging out is encouraged, but not required, to promote fairness and competitive sportsmanship.  Defensive teams are encouraged to routinely back up plays and use the right click “wave” feature to take control of the baseball from AI.

  6. 10-Run Rule. Cal Ripken’s Real Baseball utilizes the 10-run rule for all PUG’s. If your team is leading by 10 runs during a game, the following batters for the winning team are to bunt safely for a hit, then allow the losing team to tag you out after you have reached 1st base, until the inning changes to give the losing team the opportunity to score. If the losing team brings the score back to below 10-runs, competitive game play may continue. If not, the winning team is to repeat the bunt for a hit, tag-out scenario until the losing team brings the score within 9 or fewer runs OR until the game is over.

  7. Inside the park home runs.  Inside the park home runs are not allowed in Cal Ripken’s Real Baseball.

  8. Spamming. Do not disrupt the flow of a discussion by repeatedly posting the same text message or voice message (also known as “spamming”).

  9. Open chat and whisper mute. You have the ability to block any open chat.  If another player is harassing you via open chat or whisper, the user now has the ability to mute all. Hit F1 to view all mute functions.

  10. Abusive Language. Offensive and indecent names or descriptions used for characters, games, team names or any other aspect of the game are not allowed and will be blocked, and the member will be suspended.

  11. Identification. Do not impersonate Netamin employees or staff members, or other people with official roles. Doing so is grounds for account suspension and termination.

  12. Third Party Applications. The running of any third party applications (TPA’s) to intentionally or otherwise enhance player performance in Cal Ripken’s Real Baseball is not allowed. At the sole discretion of Netamin, any player found to be running a TPA for this purpose is subject to disciplinary action up to and including account suspension and/or termination.
